Just to throw the question out there … I would be curious to know why it is that so many seem to so easily accept that to be kinky must imply some idea that the sexes are inherently unequal …
Why exactly should an interest in domination and submission necessarily imply male superiority?
For one thing … D/s doesn’t exclusively exist in the realm of male dominance / female submission … various combinations of sexual orientation can exist … in which the notion that any kind of gender superiority can or should exist will make no sense whatsoever …
But even in those relationships of a male dominant / female submissive form … there is no need to presume that male dominance implies male superiority … the genders are not predestined in some blanket way to either Mastery or service merely by virtue of their genetic makeup …
This is an obnoxious idea … perpetuated throughout history for a variety of reasons that should be self-evident … with the notions of D/s merely twisted by those with an interest in doing so … to re-justify the inherently unjustifiable …
People shouldn’t suddenly attempt or be allowed to condone misogyny all over again simply because they prefer a certain type of sexual interaction in their lives …
Besides … it is very easy to explain how one can be both a feminist AND a female submissive … or a Dominant AND a man who respects the inherent rights of women …
All it takes is to remember the C in SSC … the principle of consent …
I prefer a sexually submissive role … and although this is not a trait natural to every female … it is natural to me … at the same time I am intelligent … educated … and possessed of an ordinary free will …
I CHOOSE to submit … out of that free will … to the partner or partners I select in this life …
I may do this on an intermittent basis as a bottom … on a more regular basis as a submissive … or in the fullest possible way as a slave … but in every case there will be at least one point in time at which a fundamental choice will be made … and that choice remains mine by right … no one else’s …
Even in that last and most extreme circumstance … what happens to a slave’s rights will always be up to her in the first instance … as absolute as the submission may be afterwards … until that collar is accepted her rights remain her own …
And even once the collar descends … she remains equal in human dignity … her life will be functionally unequal thereafter … but only because she has willed it so … and with the right of decision then ceded only to the Dominant she has chosen to trust so implicitly …
For myself … I would never select a Dominant who did not agree with this conception of things … and who couldn’t understand such simple basic principles … I will choose only a man who can be worthy of that level of trust … who I know can respect me and cherish me … even as he uses me … as will be his absolute due once given that authority …
Misogyny is never justified … no woman … whether submissive or otherwise … is ever a lesser being …
A submissive is merely someone strong enough to effectively give their whole self as their gift … whether for a scene or for a period of years or for a lifetime … as a fully human and equal soul … always …
